Rebuilding a throwback ’96 website with modern web technologies
Wisnet96

Overview

Wisnet celebrated 25 years of web development by recreating their original 1996 website using cutting-edge modern technologies. I leveraged Vue.js, headless WordPress, and Nuxt.js to transform a simple commemorative rebuild into a fully interactive Windows 95 desktop experience, demonstrating how nostalgic design can be enhanced with contemporary frameworks while establishing scalable development practices for future client projects.

The Challenge

The Challenge

Wisnet needed to commemorate their 25th anniversary by rebuilding their original 1996 website while using modern web technologies, ultimately evolving into recreating the nostalgic “Make a Page” feature within a fully interactive Windows 95 desktop environment.

The Strategy

The Strategy

I implemented Vue.js components for maintainability, WordPress as a headless CMS for dynamic content, and Nuxt.js for server-side rendering, deploying everything on Netlify with Git-based automation to create a scalable static site with authentic 90s aesthetics.

The Result

The Result

What was scheduled as a 4-hour project became a personal passion spanning several additional hours of my own time, delivering a fully functional Windows 95 desktop interface that established team proficiency with modern JavaScript frameworks for future client work.
